This is a very special cocktail, prepared using local fresh and natural wine from the Patate valley – grape, cape gooseberry, blackberry and naranjilla wines from the Patate vineyard are used in preparing this cocktail which is offered complimentary to guests upon arrival.

Breakfast
Our breakfast includes some of our traditional family recipes such as crepe style pancakes served with homemade blackberry, strawberry or babaco jam, natural fruit juices, freshly baked breads handmade at the hacienda, eggs prepared to your liking and coffee, tea or milk.

Hacienda Manteles
For those who prefer a more healthy start to the day we offer cereal with yoghurt, natural fruit juices and a variety of fruit.

Lunch and Dinner
At lunchtime we offer traditional soups prepared with fresh ingredients that grow in the Ecuadorian highlands such as potato (used to make Locro), quinoa, barley rice. Whilst in the evening we prepare warm, comforting cream soups which are served with garlic bread, pop corn, potato chips etc. The main course varies between beef, chicken and pork at lunchtime, and trout, beef and chicken at dinnertime.

Each meal is accompanied by a variety of salad or vegetables, most of which are grown in our organic garden or sourced from local producers, and served with rice, pasta or potatoes.

We are happy to accommodate any special diet a guest may have such as vegetarian, vegan or any other dietary requests.

Desserts
We offer a variety of freshly made delicious desserts, such as Pear Tartin, Red Fruit Crumble, Babaco Pie and Pristiños, served with tea, coffee or herbal tea.

Organic Garden
Our Organic Garden provides various lettuces, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, red cabbage, green beans, chilli peppers, basil, rosemary, and other aromatic herbs such as oregano, mint, spearmint, chamomile, lemon verbena.

Traditional Ecuadorian Dishes
Locro - a delicious, traditional potato soup served with avocado and cheese. This soup can be served as a starter or as a main course due to its substantial nature.

Quinoa - an extremely nutritious grain which grows in the Ecuadorian Highlands, quinoa can be used dry or cooked in salads, soups or tortillas. In Hacienda Manteles we often prepare the quinoa soup.

Hacienda Manteles

Pristiños - a typical Ecuadorian dessert made from pastry, deep fried and served with a locally prepared syrup.
