From Quito, on the way to Hacienda Manteles we have the option to visit one of the following spots along the famous Avenue of the Volcanoes - Cotopaxi National Park, the beautiful Lake Quilotoa or the spectacular Antisana Nature Reserve. In Manteles, the owners await us with a warm welcome and a special complimentary cocktail. Overnight at the Hacienda with romantic dinner and accommodation in the Honeymoon room. |

After a special Manteles breakfast we will begin our adventure on horseback to one of the following spots: San Jorge (3 hour return ride) or Hacienda Pequeña Suiza (3 hour return ride). On both routes we will horseback ride along trails surrounded by nature and breath taking views including views of the active Tungurahua Volcano. On return to the Hacienda a delicious lunch awaits us. In the afternoon we can undertake a 3 hour round hike to the Payacucho Waterfall, and enjoy a bottle of wine at sunset. Dinner and overnight at the Hacienda in the Honeymoon room.
After a romantic breakfast in the garden (weather permitting) we can enjoy one of the more traditional activities offered at Hacienda Manteles – the oxen cart hay ride (approx 2 hours). This original form of transportation will take us to the area of the Canopy activity, where if wished you can undertake this exciting activity or take a walk around the surrounding area. After a lovely lunch in the Hacienda you can enjoy an agricultural tour of the farm or simply sit back, relax and soak up the peaceful surroundings. After a special Manteles breakfast we will visit the town of Baños, traveling along the San Francisco Ecological Tourist Route, which offers spectacular views of the Tungurahua Volcano, Llanganati National Park and the course of the Pastaza River. We will continue our journey on to the Pailón del Diablo Waterfall. After this wonderful experience we will return to the town of Baños to partake in a delicious lunch. In the afternoon we can enjoy a tour of the town and learn about some of the different handicrafts from this area such as products made from tagua (vegetable ivory) and balsa wood. Dinner and overnight at Hacienda Manteles in Honeymoon room.
After a relaxing final morning in the hacienda we enjoy our lovely lunch before beginning our return to Quito. For those who are interested in visiting other parts of Ecuador please contact us.
