Sustainability and Volunteering

Conscious of the environmental situation that the world currently finds itself in, we have proposed at Hacienda Manteles to work in an environmentally-friendly way towards our surroundings and work closely also with local communities to promote sustainable living and tourism. We want future generations to be able to enjoy as much as we do the natural surroundings that mother earth has offered us. With this in mind, the whole family at Hacienda Manteles has worked closley with Rainforest Alliance to obtain the Smart Voyager certificate.

It is in our best interest to share with you the efforts and projects that we are involved in at Hacienda Manteles to make this world a better place:

1. The protection of 200 hectares of cloud forest.
2. Undertaking and promoting organic farming.
3. Creation of micro-businesses with the local communities.
4. Recycling.
5. Environmental Education.
6. Creating lists of the flora and fauna found in the area.
